Hello, ladies and gents! Sorry for the delay in posting, but I’m finally back home in the A, and all the traveling had my posts jumbled up a bit, but I’m back and better than ever. Today’s post is a short styling post, consisting of a grey turtleneck, a black slip dress, and a whole lotta red lipstick! While my Everlane weekender bag is quite roomy, I didn’t want to overpack during my trip to California because I knew I’d be bringing back a lot of clothes from shopping. Combined with the fact that we attended a party almost every night we were there, I wanted my outfits to be effortless, a blend of French and American style, and easy to pack. This is what I came up with!
In the look above, I picked up this simple grey turtleneck from ASOS a few months back and I’m completely in love with it so I decided to wear it to the first party. It’s form fitting but stretchy, the neck doesn’t itch, and it has gorgeous gold button details on the sleeves. Paired with my Levi’s 721 jeans and H&M black ballet flats, this outfit was simple, chic, and most of all warm! Those desert nights are no joke! In this photo, I am wearing the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Rubino with the Glossier lipgloss on top of it.
For this look, we stayed indoors for a dinner party, so I threw on this black slip dress from H&M that I got on sale for $5! It’s a bit boxy for my shape, but the ruffles on the chest are so cute, I just can’t resist. In this photo (and in the one above and below, I’m wearing my ASOS curved hoop earrings which are sadly out of stock. However, I’ve linked some similar earrings below! I love funky earring shapes that mess with traditional looks (like pearls) and I feel like these earrings really modernize your whole look. I’m also wearing my moon necklace that I picked up on sale at Forever 21 as part of a set, but I can’t find a link for it anywhere. :/ In this photo, I’m wearing Revlon’s Love Is On lipstick.
In this last look, I paired the slip dress and turtleneck together for some layering action! New Year’s Eve on the Las Vegas Strip is no joke, so I also added some Forever 21 leggings underneath the dress, and capped it off with the new white high-top Converse All Stars I got for Christmas! I In this photo, I’m wearing Rubino alone! You’ll also notice that in my photos I’m wearing a cute red silk scrunchie made by Scunci! It came in a 6 pack with blue, black, and red scrunchies in both velvet and silk. How cute is that?
