Beauty No Buy Results

Hey everyone! March has been a total whirlwind of a month, but I wanted to let you all know how my beauty shopping no buy turned out!

Soooo, I’m going to admit that the no buy turned into more of a low buy.And my spending was probably displaced from beauty shopping to clothes shopping. I mean, you should see my Hot Topic bill! Just as a reminder of the rules, I wasn’t supposed to buy any makeup or skincare products with the exception of repurchasing things that I’d run out of. I compared my spending from the last two months to the two months before that below.

Now you’re probably thinking: You don’t look like you made that much of a difference in spending. And to be honest, it felt like that at first. But if you look closer there are a few things to inspect.

  1. One of those hair appointments was $83! I got my hair dyed which was a treat, and that I’d saved up for, and normally a hair appoimtment would cost between $30-$40. Therefore that is an outlier, and shouldn’t count.
  2. What I was really focusing on were the “Non-Essential Purchases”. As you can see, I cut that number in half, and spent less than a 3rd of the amount I spent at the end of last year. Sounds like a win to me!

Of course, I could do better the next time I do something like this. However, my next goal is to try #panning, where I actually use up the makeup I have. I’m actually dangerously close to finishing up a few things, but that’s for another post!

I hope you guys enjoyed my little adventure into a no buy! Let me know what other challenges you’d like me to do in the future!

Peace!
